Dr. Chiranjeevi Thota, FRSCGeneral Manager (R&D), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is a pioneering catalysis expert with 25+ years driving innovations in petroleum refining, biofuels, CO₂ valorisation, and circular economy solutions.

He has 57 patents, 92 publications, and 18 commercialized technologies generating hundreds of crores in value, including breakthrough FCC catalyst additives, renewable diesel from vegetable oils, and indigenous process chemicals.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and recipient of 25+ prestigious awards (Golden Peacock Eco-Innovation, Petrofed Innovator of the Year, FICCI, Frost & Sullivan), he has been instrumental in building BPCL’s world-class Catalyst Lab and translating lab research to large-scale industrial success.

Dr. Sandeep Kumar is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University, USA, and a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from BIT Sindri, India.

With over 30+ years of experience spanning industry, research, and academia, Dr. Kumar brings deep expertise in process development, engineering, and project management. His research centers on thermochemical and hydrothermal technologies for waste valorization, with a strong emphasis on converting biomass and organic waste into advanced biofuels and bioproducts.

Dr. B. Rajasekhar ReddyAssistant Professor, Department of Fuel, Minerals & Metallurgical Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is a specialist in microwave-assisted thermochemical conversion of coal, biomass, waste plastics, and other feedstocks into fuels, chemicals, and high-value carbon materials.

He leads major funded projects worth ₹4+ crore from DST, BRNS, and MoP-CPRI, including pioneering work in hydrogen production, sustainable co-firing, and carbon nanomaterials. Formerly a postdoctoral fellow at the Delaware Energy Institute, USA, he earned his Ph.D. from IIT Madras.

Author of 24+ peer-reviewed papers and 4 book chapters, Dr. Reddy’s accolades include the Institute Research Award, M.H. Shukla Best Presentation Award, and top recognition in the Coal Gasification Hackathon 2024.

Dr. Siva Mohan ReddyAssociate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Roorkee specializes in thermal and hydrothermal biomass conversion, nano-biomaterials, and nanometal-carbon hybrids for energy and environmental applications. With 50+ peer-reviewed publications and 6 Indian patents (2 commercialized, 2 in pipeline), he has secured ₹3.5+ crore in funded projects from DST, DBT, and the Ministry of Steel, including a 25 kg/hr hydrogen production scale-up plant.

A Ph.D. from IISc Bangalore with postdoctoral research at York University, Canada, Dr. Reddy is the recipient of the Young Influential Researcher – Asia 2023 (ACS IE&C) and is a founding member of NSMR Pvt Ltd, developing industrial nano-biomaterials.

Dr. Dilip Kumar BeharaProfessor, Department of Chemical Engineering, JNTUA College of Engineering (Autonomous), Anantapur is an expert in photo-electrochemical water splitting, nanotechnology, solar energy, polymers, and biofuel conversion. He earned his Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur under the AICTE-QIP program, pioneering metal oxide nanoparticle catalysts for solar energy harvesting.

He has led ₹3+ crore in funded R&D projects from DST-SERB, AICTE, UGC, RUSA, and ANRF, and consults for Kanopy Techno Solutions Ltd (SIDBI Incubation Centre, IIT Kanpur). His innovations include a patented “Photo-electrochemical Water Splitting Device” and multiple applied nanomaterial technologies.

Recipient of the PRIME-83 Innovation Award (IIT Kanpur), Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award (IIM Ahmedabad), AP State Best Teacher Award (2024), and ISTE Best Innovation in Engineering & Technology Award (2024), he has 45+ peer-reviewed publications, 6 book chapters, and presentations at global conferences in the USA, Singapore, and across India.

Dr. Anand ChakinalaAssociate Professor, Department of Biotechnology & Chemical Engineering, Manipal University Jaipur brings extensive global research, industrial, and academic experience across Europe and India. A Ph.D. graduate from the University of Twente on supercritical biomass gasification for hydrogen, he has worked with ExxonMobil Chemical Europe, Veolia Water Solutions, and led industry–academia collaborations in advanced wastewater treatment and process technologies.

Recipient of the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship (UK, 2024), his current research spans catalysis, waste valorization, industrial wastewater treatment, process intensification, and AI/ML for chemical engineering. He has held roles at leading institutions including the University of Abertay Dundee, University of Reading, and Brownell Ltd., with multiple publications and innovations in sustainable process technologies.

Dr. Anitha K. Sharma brings over 25 years of global experience in the water, environment, climate and urban sector. As a former Diplomat at the Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi, investment manager at Innovation Fund Denmark, Ph.d., postdoc and senior researcher at Technical University of Denmark and development engineer at Biofos WWTP Denmark, she has vast experience in combining research, innovation, practice, policy and international collaboration. Having engaged with 40+ countries across five continents, she advocates partnerships among governments, technology providers, academia, and citizens to achieve sustainable solutions.
